OCTOBER 2023 NEWSLETTER
Welcome to our tenth newsletter for 2023. We have returned from our trip to Tasmania. Though we all picked up coughs and colds, it went well and was very relaxing. We recommend Penguin, Gordon River, Russel Falls, Bay of Fires, Cradle Mountain and Wineglass Bay as the highlights, should you be planning a trip there. Thanks to all the instructors that filled in for Liz and my classes while we were away.
Thanks to everyone that attended our Birthday Social. Super thanks to Liz and her catering team that did a massive job to get all the meals out hot and delicious. Thanks also to all the instructors that attended and also assisted on stage with the walk throughs. We went overtime because of the dual walk throughs (front and back), but no-one seemed to mind and there were still many there right through to the end.
We have finished evaluating the effects on classes due to Johnathons imminent departure, and three classes will have to close due to lack of a replacement instructor. It is unfortunate, but it was not a circumstance that we had planned for. The rest of the classes will continue next year with replacement instructors.
Plans for next year's resumption of overseas travel tours is well underway with 17 people currently locked in. There is still a couple of cabins on hold should anyone wish to join us, but airfare arrangements are now complete, so there is very little time left to guarantee being on the same flights, so don't delay your decision if you are thinking of joining us.

Information below on:
  • 2023 Regular Socials
  • 30th Birthday Merchandise

2023 Regular Socials
These are the dates for this years remaining socials:
PLEASE NOTE: The December social has been moved by a week from the original date, as the venue had a clash of potential bookings.
  • Sunday 12th November - 1.30pm-5.00pm (By Request)
  • Sunday 3rd December - 1.30pm-5.00pm (Pre Programmed and ticketed) XMAS Social - Wear some tinsel
REMEMBER AT THE REGULAR SOCIALS... Meals are available from Ivy's Kitchen from Noon. Good food at very reasonable prices. Please support Ivy so she continues to offer the meals at our socials. There are also frozen meals that you can take home with you for later, at about $8 each (check out the freezer in the hall).

NOTE: Tickets for the December Social will be available from this week (ask your instructor to get you one). Initially we will limit them to 80 tickets. If we get more than that we will attempt to negotiate access to the back hall to enable us to spread out a bit.
30th Birthday Merchandise
The first order of shirts made before or at the Birthday Social is nearly with us ready for distribution. We are putting together a final order for those in the regional areas and those that missed out for whatever reason.
The cost is $30 including GST and will only be produced on order.
We have samples of sizes 10, 12 and 14 in the same style as previous ladies birthday shirts (other sizes are no longer available). We have samples of sizes 16, 18 and 20 in a new ladies style shirt (different brand) to try on to ensure correct fit. We also still have access to the black men's style polo shirt that we have used in previous years (which is also the same style the we use for our green shirts).
The first order will be available for distribution at the November social, to either the dancer, or their instructor for distribution in classes. The second order will be placed immediately after that social and will probably be available at the Xmas social.
